Q:When I flush the toilet where does the stuff go? does it really go in the oceace
A:
The liquids and solids you flush down the toilet flow down a pipe and out of your house or building. Two possible things happen now. The material may continue in a pipe away from your house or building to the street where it empties into a sanitary sewer system. If your community does not have a sewer system, the material travels in a pipe to an underground tank. Here the solids accumulate. The material in the tank eventually breaks down and the mixture that is left eventually needs to be cleaned out. The liquid flows to wide areas beneath the surface where it slowly seeps into the ground and is purified naturally and recycled.
