Q:Are Hummers really that much worse for the environment than Hondas or other smaller cars?
A:
Hummers are much bigger than small cars so more natural resources are required to build one than to build a smaller car. Getting natural resources and making them into the Hummers require more energy than doing so for smaller vehicles. Depending on who you ask, Hummers get 8 to 16 miles per gallon of fuel. Smaller cars can get up to four times better mileage than Hummers. Greater energy usage and poorer mileage both produce extra greenhouse gases, and that is not good for the environment.
