About me:
I am a retired high school Earth Science and Biology teacher. Since my retirement in 1998, I have worked as a Science Education Internet Specialist for the Center for Innovation in Engineering and Science Education (CIESE) at Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ and as a Staff Associate for the Digital Library for Earth System Education (DLESE) at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University in Palisades, NY.
My favorite green stuff:
I drive a Prius, ride the train to NYC, and, not least importantly, I look for organically grown fruits and vegetables at the supermarket.

As an educator most of my working life, I tried to help my students understand:
-that Earth was their home planet
-the planetary systems upon which life on Earth depends
-the contemporary environmental issues and how to deal with them
My eco goals:
-Provide beTurtle.com visitors with interesting and useful information
-Convince my wife to drive a hybrid
-Stay healthy long enough to watch my grandchildren adopt the ways of turtle
My eco concerns:
-Will humans be creative enough to continue to devise the means to sustain their existence on Earth?
-Will the true value of the environmental consequences of our actions ever be realized in our economic considerations?
